Jump to RecipeThis recipe has just the right amount of sweet in it if you do not love overly sweet coffee drinks. Now, if you are “a little bit of coffee with my creamer, please” kinda person, you can increase that brown sugar as much as you’d like.

Christmas Morning Coffee Blend
For an 8 cup brew:
4 scoops coffee (or your maker’s ratio water to coffee grounds or beans, you know your machine)
1 cinnamon stick (or 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon) + a sprinkle for topping
A heavy dash of ground cloves
2 teaspoons brown sugar
Cool whip or whipped cream in a can
Half and half by preference
Instructions:
Prepare your coffee maker as you would for 8 cups of coffee or you may edit the recipe down to whatever amount of coffee you are making. Add cinnamon stick to the brew basket. It is best to break up or even crush slightly the stick if you are using a grind and brew maker like we have for freshly ground coffee each morning. Or add 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon directly to the brew basket. Next, shake in a heavy dash of ground cloves into the brew basket. For the brown sugar, I like to add it to the pot directly instead of the brew basket but do what you’re comfortable with. Then start your pot.
Once your coffee has brewed its Christmas Morning Coffee Blend, now it’s time to make it coffee shop fancy! Add half and half to your mug as you’d prefer then pour in your coffee blend. Leave some headspace for the fun part. Now add in whipped cream to the top of the coffee and sprinkle on a decorative dash of cinnamon. Take a careful sip. Tastes like Christmas morning! Enjoy and Merry Christmas!
Why a Christmas Morning Coffee Blend?
Making a special coffee just feels right on Christmas morning. Normally I reserve sweet coffees for afternoon treats. My morning cups of Joe are simply coffee plus half and half but on this Christmas morning, we’re going to add a little razzle dazzle to the special occasion.
Can I just buy flavored Christmas Coffee in a store?
Sure you can! And likely pay an inflated amount because it’s a special “holiday blend” or some other exclusive labeling to make you throw all your money at it.
Not to mention the deceiving “natural flavors” added that are nothing natural at all (chemical concoctions made to mimic certain natural flavors AKA cheaper to produce than the real thing and often times add a longer shelf life to the product).
Check the ingredients of a flavored coffee bag the next time you hit the coffee aisle. If you find one with just coffee plus all real and organic ingredients then kudos to that company and comment here the brand name and store! I want to check them out too.
But really, the best WHY I can give you is it’s a heck of a lot cheaper and took me an additional 45 seconds of my morning to add these ingredients to the coffee pot.
